Dr. Anitha Roy

Professor

Dr. Anitha Roy has completed her M. Pharm from Dr. Hari Singh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, M.P. and completed her PhD at Saveetha University. Presently working as Professor in this Department, she has published more than 200 papers in reputed journals. She has presented many posters and Papers in various National and International Conferences and won many awards. She is actively involved in both teaching and research. She is an academician turned researcher with 22 years of teaching experience.


 

Dr. Ashokkumar Veeramuthu

Professor

Dr. Ashokkumar Veeramuthu received his Ph.D. from the University of Madras, Chennai, India, in 2013. During his Ph.D. period, he was awarded an Indo-Australian fellowship and visited Adelaide University, Australia. as a visiting scientist. He received his M. Phil & M.Sc. degree in Plant Biotechnology from Indian universities. Currently, he is working as Professor at the Department of Pharmacology, Saveetha Dental College, Saveetha University, Chennai. Dr. Ashok is also expertise in biofuels, biorefinery, wastewater treatment using microalgae, and CO2 sequestration. He is expertise in value-added bioproducts, biomass thermochemical techniques, torrefaction, and biochar synthesis, bio-jet fuels, and metallic iron production. Dr. Ashokkumar has published more than 85 peer-reviewed international journal articles and three book chapters. He is an active reviewer for many high-impact journals published by Elsevier, Springer Nature, RSC and ACS Publishers. He serves as the Managing Guest Editor/Guest editor in Elsevier journals (Fuel (IF 6.6), Journal of Biotechnology (IF-3.52), Environmental Technology and Innovation (IF-5.2), Academic Editor- PLOS ONE (IF-3.2) and Springer journals (IF-5.4).

Dr. Ezhilarasan Devaraj

Professor

Dr. D. Ezhilarasan is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology. He has more than 10 years of teaching and 20 years of research experience. He has completed M.Sc. with Gold Medal and earned his Ph.D. from University of Madras, Chennai, India and Université Catholque de Louvain, Brussels, Belgium through Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctoral Research Fellowship. He has obtained various Research Fellowships during his Ph.D. such as DST-INSPIRE, University Research fellowship from the University of Madras and other prestigious awards. His research focuses are hepatology and molecular biology.  He has published more than 100 research and review articles as the first and corresponding author in reputed journals such as Hepatology, Toxicology, Journal of Cellular Physiology, Critical Reviews in Oncology/Hematology, Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology Environmental Toxicology, Oral Diseases, Journal of Oral Pathology and Medicine, Journal of Drug Delivery and Science and Technolgy, Drug Metabolism and Review, Nanomedicine, etc. He also published more than 15 book chapters and Edited a book.

Dr. S. Raghunandhakumar

Associate Professor

Dr. S. Raghunandhakumar currently serves as an Associate professor in this department. In addition, he is taking care of Stem cell bio-bank for regenerative medicine at Saveetha Dental College. Prior to this, he started his research career as a postdoctoral fellow in premier research centres from both national (CCMB-Hyderabad & CBT-Anna University) and international (Israel & USA) platform. He did his Masters and Ph.D at University of Madras. Over all he has more than 11 years of experience in teaching as well as in research field. During this period, he has secured several fellowships, awards and publication from his core research domain.


 
 

Dr. Senthil Rethinam

Associate Professor

Dr. Senthil Rethinam received his Bachelor's degree (2006) and master's degree (2008) from Bharathidasan University, India, and Ph.D. degree (2016) from Central Leather Research Institute-Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, India. After that, he worked as a National Post-doctoral Fellow (NPDF) researcher at Anna University, India till 2018. Following the postdoctoral research, he joined the Assistant Professor, School of Bio & Chemical Engineering Department, Sathyabama University, India, in 2019. After, being granted the TUBITAK (2232) International Fellowship for Outstanding Researcher, in Nov 2019, he joined the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Science, Ege University, Turkey and also worked at Associate Professor, Engineering Faculty, Leather Engineering Department, Ege University, Turkey. Dr. Senthil Rethinam is currently an Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology, Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals, Chennai-600 077, Tamilnadu. He has published more than 55 research articles, field over 10 National and International patents, and commercialized 3 products to relevant industries, as well as book, book chapters, conference proceedings, and awards. His research interest lies in solid Leather waste management, Leather waste utilization, Leather composites, polymer matrix composites, biomaterials, regenerative medicine, etc.,

The faculty members from these institutions serve as Adjunct Faculties with our department and deliver lectures periodically. They offer a professional expertise that is outside of the experience of most faculty members.

 

Dr. Su Shuing Lam

Universiti Malaysia Terengganu

Dr. Su Shiung LAM is a tenured Professor (VK7) at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), currently the Senate Member of the university, and Director of International Centre, and a Core Member of Institute of Tropical Aquaculture and Fisheries (AKUATROP), accredited as the Higher Institution Centre of Excellence (HICoE) for Future Food: Sustainable Shellfish Aquaculture by Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. His academic background covers mainly on Chemical & Environmental Engineering, focusing on Waste & Biomass Utilization, Waste and Wastewater Treatment, Green Technology, and Pollution Detection/Mitigation. He is promoted to Professor within 8 years after his PhD and has professional qualification as Certified Environmental Professional for Hazardous Waste Management in Malaysia, and Professional Technologist (Ts./P.Tech) for Green Technology by the Malaysia Board of Technologists.


 

Dr. Kamal Dua, Senior Lecturer

University of Technology Sydney, Australia

Dr Kamal Dua is an award-winning pharmaceutics and drug delivery researcher who has deep roots in teaching, research and industry spanning three nations and two continents. He holds dual doctoral degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Immunology & Microbiology and has completed four professional diplomas in the areas of clinical research, product development, drug regulation, and documentation and intellectual property rights. In his role as a senior lecturer in the Graduate School of Health at UTS, Kamal leads a suite of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) courses where, as a Program Coordinator, his responsibilities include coordinating the academic and research activities for those courses.


 
 

Dr. Kylie Williams, Professor

Prof Kylie Williams is a registered pharmacist with over 25 years of academic experience in teaching and research at both the University of Technology Sydney and The University of Sydney. She brings extensive experience to learning and teaching in Pharmacy, having taught students at all levels of study (undergraduates, postgraduates, practicing pharmacists). She has expertise in a variety of areas including evidence-based practice, drug information, pharmacoepidemiology, online health information, and therapeutics, and has a special interest in eLearning.


 
 

Dr. Moorthy Ponnusamy, Associate Professor

University of Nebraska Medical Centre

Dr. Moorthy Ponnusamy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. His primary goal is to identify and characterize the cancer stem cell populations in different cancers. Over the last several years, it has been identified that a small population (less than 5%) of cancer cells, referred as “Cancer Stem Cells (CSCs)” or “side population cells (SP)”, is responsible for the aggressiveness, metastasis and resistance of ovarian cancer cells to therapy. Based on his previous study on role of human polymerase association factor 1/pancreatic differentiation 2 (hPaf1/PD2) in the maintenance of self-renewal in mouse embryonic stem cells.


 
 

Dr. Muralidharan Anbalagan, Assistant Professor

Tulane University, School of Medicine

Dr. Anbalagan is an assistant professor in the Department of Structural and Cellular Biology. In collaboration with the Tulane Circadian Biology Center, Dr. Anbalagan started to work on circadian disruption of melatonin signal by dim light exposure at night and breast cancer metastasis to bone. He gained knowledge in bone biology by visiting Dr. Alexander Robling's bone research laboratory at Indiana University School of Medicine through a LACATS fellowship. Dr. Anbalagan is interested in understanding how estrogen receptor α (ERα) phosphorylation impacts bone development and bone turnover. His research will determine the role of ERα phosphorylation in bone homeostasis at young, adult and old ages.


 
 

Dr. Sheeba Rani Nakka David, Assistant Professor

Universiti Brunei Darussalum

Dr Sheba David obtained her B.Pharm from The Tamilnadu Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai, India in 1998. In 2001 she was awarded her Master with University Gold Medal from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. In 2008 she was awarded her PhD Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. In 2008 Dr David worked as a Post-Doctoral Scientist fellow at the University of Geneva, Switzerland in Professor Kalia’s laboratory where she developed expertise in laser-assisted transdermal drug delivery system techniques. She worked in the School of Pharmacy, International Medical University (IMU), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Dr Sheba currently holds the position of Senior Assistant Professor in the Institute of Health Sciences Universiti Brunei Darussalam. Her interests are in Pharmacy, Biomedical and Medical Education.


 
 

Dr. Dinesh Kumar Chellappan, Senior Lecturer

International Medical University, Malaysia

Dr. Dinesh Kumar is working as a lecturer in the Department: Life Sciences, School of Pharmacy. He has completed his PhD from Manipal University, India. His research interests includes Diabetes Research, Natural Products and Molecules and Pharmacology. He has received various national and international funded projects. He also has published several articles in peer-reviewed international journals.


 
 

Dr. A. G. Navashenaq, Assistant Professor

Bam University of Medical Sciences, Iran

Dr Jamshid Gholizadeh Navashenaq is an assistant professor and immunologist at Bam University of Medical Sciences. Although his research mainly focuses on the molecular mechanism of oncogenesis, he is also interested in inflammation and inflammation-related disorders. He has a broad background in immunology, with specific training and expertise in laboratory and animal research on immunological aspects of cancer. As principal investigator or co-investigator on several university-funded grants, he laid the groundwork for the proposed research by developing immunotherapies relevant to cancer. In addition, he successfully administered the projects, collaborated with other researchers, and produced several peer-reviewed publications from each project. 


 
 

Dr. Inamul Hasan Madar, Assistant Professor

Dr. Inamul Hasan Madar is currently working at the Center for Cancer Proteo Genome Research (CPGR), College of Science, Korea University. He is a skilled and dedicated Bioinformatics Professional with an extensive background in genomics (NGS), proteomics (MS), system biology and multi-omics research technologies and their applications to clinical studies with thorough attention to detail investigation of complex biological, cellular and clinical experiments. Having experience in private, government and international research consortium, he is interested in long-lasting research and clinical solutions.


 
 

Dr. Mahendran Sekar

Associate Professor & Head, Universiti Kuala Lumpur Royal College of Medicine Perak, Malaysia

Dr. Mahendran Sekar is currently working as Associate Professor & Head of Pharmaceutical Chemistry department at Universiti Kuala Lumpur, Royal College of Medicine Perak under the Faculty of Pharmacy and Health Sciences since 2012. His research is mainly in the field of drug discovery and development of natural products. He is also interested in the development of innovative natural products using green technology. He has supervised more than 30 postgraduate and undergraduate research projects. He has more than 80 publications including ISI & SCOPUS indexed journals with high impact factor, conference proceedings, guidelines and book chapters. He is also a reviewer with a number of scientific journals of International standing. 


 
 

Dr. Venkatesh Kumaresan

University of Texas at San Antonio, USA

Dr. Venkatesh Kumaresan is a microbiologist and molecular immunologist who is actively involved in studying the pathogenesis of bioterror agent, Coxiella burnetii. He is an expert in decoding immunological mysteries using systems biology approaches. He uses several cellular and animal models to understand the host-pathogen interaction. Until 2021, he has published 50 high impact research articles with 1000+ citations. He developed and patented a novel product for aquaculture eco-management.


 
 

Dr. Gauthaman Kalamegam

Professor

Dr. Gauthaman Kalamegam is a clinician-scientist with more than 19 years of research experience. His main research interests are in the field of ‘Stem cells and Regenerative Medicine’ and ‘Cancer Biology’. His research interests involves the development of (i) a pharmaceutical screening platform using human Embryonic Stem Cells (hESCs) to identify potential drug candidates; (ii) increasing the hESC cell numbers in vitro using biodegradable nanoscaffolds; and (iii) overcoming the problem of tumorigenesis associated with hESCs, (iv) in vitro differentiation into clinically useful tissues viz. osteocytes, chondrocytes, neurons; (v) clinical translation towards the management of osteoarthritis and Alzheimer’’s disease.


 
 

Dr. R. Mythili

Associate Professor

Dr. Mythili is an environmental microbiologist who works on treatment and remediation, Environmental Microbiology, Nanoparticles and its biological applications. Her research interest includes utilisation of vegetable wastes as value added products. She has more than 25 Publications with more 1000+ citations and one book chapter to her credit. 


 
 

Dr. Praksah Srinivasan Timiri Shanmugam is experienced in device implantation, cytotoxicity, irritation, toxicokinetic, carcinogenicity, systemic toxicity and many other toxicological procedures, pathology, biochemical analysis and statistical analysis. His toxicological research articles are published in peer-reviewed journals. He also published medical device books and authored toxicology chapters for international publishers. He also validated the Gas chromatography protocol to establish the chemical characterization as per ISO 10993 and 17025. Also, he has hands-on experience in Liquid chromatography. He used to working with chemistry, extractable/leachable and toxicology. He has 18 years’ experience in toxicology and related field in-depth knowledge of GLP, ISO guidelines and global regulations related to biological safety/biocompatibility.
